Courtney

i'm finally finished with courtney's senior photos.
maybe i'll edit a little more tomorrow when i'm stuck in my 6th hour for over 2 hours. but for the most part, i'm satisfied with my work.

i'm getting more & more offers to do pictures these days, & it makes me happy.
nothing like a good ol' distraction (photo shoot) from a shitty situation (life).
if you're interested & in the kansas city area, email me at allison.louise@yahoo.com or send me a message on facebook.

Zemotion

Zhang Jingna (Zemotion) is a role model & hero of mine. My passion for photography and the drive to shoot just gets stronger with every work she comes out with.
There almost aren't any words to explain why Zhang Jingna's work is so beautiful & hard to look away from.
When I saw that there was a chance that I could win printed artwork from her, my stomach flipped. For the years that I've been faithfully following her work, I've always longed to save up enough money to buy one of my favorite prints. Sadly, that money never got saved. So now that this opportunity is here, when I'm at my brokest, it's so exciting.
Her rise to such fame at such a young age has given me hope for teenagers with dreams of at least a little recognition for my photography to actually get that recognition. It pushes me to be better & to put my work out there more, hoping that my work can do to someone else what Zhang Jingna's work does to me: awes me.
Her travel photos on her blog get me even more pumped to travel around the world, just me & my camera. She can make mundane things seem like the most beautiful things in the world, & I think that's what makes a good photographer a great photographer. She finds beauty in everything, & everyone agrees.
& to me, there is nothing more beautiful than a coffee table book or a post card of her work that I can actually touch.
I hope all of you get as inspired by her work as I do.

Not only does she have extraordinary talent in seeing beauty through a camera lens, but she is also very talented in other visual arts, as well. Autumn Snow is a work of art that Zhang Jingna created as far as the lineart and some of the digital effects go. To me, it's just as beautiful as her photographs.

Her work will continue to inspire me & thousands of art-lovers around the world for years & years & years.
Her fame is very well deserved.

the vaters family

i took family holiday photos of the vaters family over the weekend.
they were so fun to be around; there was never a moment when there wasn't a smile on someone's face.

while we were at crown center we saw lots of men in military uniform with their girlfriends, fiances, wives, sisters, etc. in what looked like a military wedding.
i wish i could have photographed it.

it's been a long time.

six months to be exact.
my thoughts have been bottled up for six months. & i haven't been expressing them in pictures, either. i need to start doing more personal work. i can't even remember the last time i went on a shoot just for my own satisfaction and ideas.
but here is what i have remembered.

i've been to visit the horses on courtney's farm with courtney & emily.

i've watched six months of sunsets faithfully.

i've taken courtney's senior photos.

i've visited my dad in the hospital.

i've seen my little sister larissa & her best friend mckenzie as zombies for halloween.

i've seen my boyfriend make friends with a kangaroo, who i named jack.

i've seen the zoo 3 more times, which brings my grand total to well over 20 times.

i've seen autumn slowly creep in.

i've seen it come over columbia, home of the mizzou tigers.

i haven't done much, but i've done enough to fill up six months.
& i'll keep doing more to fill you in.
